IIRC, the last time that happened was with the edge. Someone have any sage we can burn to ward off evil spirits?

Nice cat, Toby.

That's exactly what has kitty so scared. OTOH, _my_ Edge is still alive and kicking for my wife. We'll re-evaluate around Christmas and she may wind up with a Z71 (she likes the camera, and it would actually be functional for her in her job).

It's probably too late.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's not mine. I thought that picture was relatively infamous, though.

Exorcism, then?

Seems I am part of the elite group that registered : Sep 1999
I remember the very first version of the visorcentral website, seems to me it only lasted a couple months at most in that form. It was a pale blue color scheme, used tiny semi rounded boxes next to the main links.

The colors of the Visor Deluxe are still the coolest set of colors ever made
I'm still using my Prism. I'll be upgrading to a Tungsten|C soon, however (though I'd prefer something a *tad* smaller, with a rubberized keyboard).

Ah....
The screen protector fiasco. (girlandgeek.com/boycott seems to be gone..)
The SIXPAK.
The Visor received log (including charts and graphs.. lol)
The Customer support nightmares

Man, this place used to be ~alive~
Sorry to see it and Handspring go. It was nice having another product to choose from..

that chart kept me coming back. Then one day it disappeared into the ether.:-)

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

Nope, there was a version even older than that.
The stick figure dude with the "Vi" (in "Visorcentral" logo) forming his legs, wasn't around yet.

The whole front page had a pale/almost pastel blue color scheme.

Interesting how so many have switched to the Tungsten T. I did the same. I think that this is the first time I have checked VC in 8 or 9 months. Been spending my time on the TT forum over at Brighthand.

wow
By: john @ 08:00 PM

Saw the news about HS getting borged by Palm. Had to stop by and see what the VC buzz wuz.

Been here off and on for quite a while (see date at left).

My original BVD still lives on, being used by a coworker.

My trusty Plat had to be fired up to get my pw for this board, since I haven't got all my old pw data over to the Dell Axim that work dropped on me a few weeks ago. Shame that Targus hasn't done a ppc keyboard yet. Backup module, 8M module and landmodem still work.

Axim's a nice device. I like being able to drop the CF card from my Canon A70 right in to the device and view pix. Wifi's nice, too. And 256M in the SD slot should hold for a while, even w/ the tunes. Block Recognition's quite a bit like Grafitti. Don't do too many voice memos yet. (One of my biggest handspring gripes was the mic that didn't do anything, at least until I got my SixPak. You mean you didn't get yours?)

All sorts of dissonance and guilt as I buy (get dragged?) in to the M$ view of PDA's. However, the price was right. :-) (not counting the 3-figure order I placed to handango today to register the demo progs that keep ticking away)

Lotsa good times lurking and commenting in these areas. Thanks to all.

RIP Handspring; we had a good time. Wish I had a nickle for every tap, drag, or buttonpush on those 2 devices.

Semi-traitorously yours,

John

I hope that is Blue Visor Deluxe and not an article of clothing.

My coworkers need to get their own undies. I don't help out in that area.

way back when, we had all ordered our visors, no one knew when they were going to show up.

Then they slowing stated showing up and someone started a thread that basically said "i got my visor." Then ppl started saying , "I haven't got mine yet, when did you order yours." and then someone said "maybe it is by location, where do you live?"

then someone creeated a map showing what states were being delivered there visors, and also keeping track on what order dates were being delivered and what type of visor.

This thread must of been in the top 3 of all time posted thread.

then one day, sadly, poof!!! it was gone. To trace what so ever.

ahh the good ole'days.

I remember that post too! What a blast it was. So sorry that it vanished. Also remember waiting impatiently for that Innopocket SixPak... argh.

I've lurked now and then over the years. I was an early adopter of an Ice Visor Deluxe, initially purchased with a 5-pack of stylii (remember those colors?), a serial cradle, and a backup springboard.

In the years since, I began to have issues with the Ice when my schedule, tasks, and contacts grew to nearly fill its memory. I then moved onto an original Compaq Ipaq 3630, then onto an Ipaq 3835, then to a T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition (where I am today). I'm purchasing a MS SmartPhone Tanager/SPVx in the next few weeks.

My old Handspring was donated to my brother, who has used it religiously since. My old Palm IIIe was donated to my wife how used it daily until last fall, when its screen started to fade. I then purchased her an Ipaq 1910 and she's in total love with it. Now my mom has the old Palm and uses it now and then for addresses.

What a trip through memory-land! Amazing to see Argent,
MarkEagle, and others still around here and at other PDA sites. I'm now a mod at Brighthand...
