Unhappy

Damn,

This weekend My Visor Deluxe crashed -- real hard. I can only suspect it was the VisorPhone causing the problem because I have never crashed like this before.

Both battery levels were at around 50%. The only hack I was running was MiddleCapsHack. After placing a coupe of calls, an "Untrapped Memory Exception" (or something like that) error dialogue popped up with a reset button. The button was un-clickable, so I poked the button on the back. The result was less than glorious. I got the Palm OS splash screen, and it just kept blinking at me. I tried poking the reset button again, but I got the same thing.

At this point, I yanked out the VisorPhone and tried another reset. This time there was a horizontal line about 3/4 of the way down the screen. Reset-schmeeset. Nothing worked. Finally, after the medium reset (down button-reset) failed, I was forced to kick the thing out of the window.

All my data was lost, but a backup from the desktop application restored it all nicely. The bummer about all of this is I was on my way out of town when this all happened and was basically outfitted with a glorious paperweight.

So, does anyone have any similar experiences with this damn phone or other modules?

cheers,
jovino

Why don't you post a web page...

With a log of your transaction with Handspring tech support ? Take a look at my example at http://www.olegdulin.com/innogear . It seemed to work with Innogear -- I just received a replacement unit.
