Question

I have read all about the lack of memory the Li Ion batteries have and basically the battery will outlast the life of the device. I was wondering if I am or will cause any adverse effect on the life of my battery if while sitting at my office I take my prism out of the charger for approx 5-10 min then put it back in the charger, do I have to worry about anything??

No worries on the battery life/usage. Biggest problem will be avoiding dropping it. Li-ions are not affected by frequent top-offs.

No worries, the Prism's lithium battery won't mind that a bit. In fact, if you want to maximize the life of a lithium battery, the best way to do it is to minimize the number of times that it needs a "full" recharge. The charging circuit is designed to use a high current recharge to get the battery up to about 90% and then it uses a low current charge for the last 10%. That low current charge is very easy on the battery, so frequent "topping off" should actually minimize stress on the battery.

Note that this only applies to lithium batteries. NiCads should never be topped off or you'll experience major "memory" effect and NiMH have such a limited number of charging cycles that it's best to make every one count.
