Also, I have performed some backup and restore functions to test things out, and when I went to look up a phone number, my entire phone list was garbled. Perhaps a low power condition occurred due to the battery drain problem, but everything else seems OK. So far.
Has anybody else experienced either of these problems or have suggestions? I am going to try another brand smartmedia card to see if Olympus brand (with panoramic feature) has a compatibility issue.
Hi Tom,
I think it is abnormal to have battery drain like that. Memplug is carefully designed to minimized the power consumption. To what we have measured, it is even consumed much less power than 8MB or backup module in Standby mode(with SmartMedia attached, but not during read/write).
(For detail of power consumpion, pls refer to our product page) This allow Memplug and smartMedia card always plug in your visor without any significant power loss.
Besides, Memplug is compatible to all 3V SmartMedia available in the market. It won't have any compatibility issue about SmartMedia card.
In your case, I believed your module is defected, and you can send your module to our distributor to get a replacement.
We are really sorry for any inconvience caused.
In case, you have further questions or problems with Memplug, pls feel free to sent email to our support team members:
