Question

I remember someone mentioning that they had purchased the Handspring Holster Case to try with their Prism. They said it fit, but the side protection prevented using the Minstrel with it. Couldn't someone cut some of this protection off (just enough for accommodate the Minstrel), and add an elastic strap near the top if you're really paranoid? Anyone want to try this with a holster case they are not otherwise expecting to utilize in the future?

If that's the "Plastic belt clip holster" the VPR DOESN'T fit.

I just came back from CompUSA where I purchased one. Luckily I tried it in the parking lot and discovered that curved area at the bottom of the Prism prevented it from sliding into the holster. Needless to say I returned the holster to the store. There was nothing on the box that said that the VPR would not fit.

I ended up buying a padded case they were selling for the Gameboy. I have a feeling that finding a good beltclip case for a "hunchbacked" VPR (VPR w/Minstrel-S) will be hard to find.

actually, i was looking for any case

I wasn't looking specifically for a belt-clip case, although that would be nice. The main reason I considered the plastic holster idea was if it fit at all, the springboard slot would be free to contain any sized module it wanted, provided you shaved a centimeter or two off the sides.

I think it would probably work (with your suggested "after-market modifications") for someone with a VPL. The VPL doesn't have that curved area at the bottom.
