Sending email on DSL w DigitalLink

Trying to send email t/o digital link using my dsl account. Receiving w/o problems but sending generates the following error msg: "received unexpected response from outgoing mail server, mail.pacbell.net.(protocol error) Connection Closed. SBC Customers Only!

I have tried to review past posts w/o much luck. Trying to Send and receive at same time doesn't work either. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Forgot to mention, I'm using Eudora to access my email using my sprint Digital link.

I'll take a stab at it. Many ISPs are refusing to relay email that originates from mail servers other than their own. They're doing this as an anti-spam measure. Since you're using your DL, your email is originating from a Sprint server, not an SBC server.

If there was a way for you to log on to your email server at SBC before composing your email, that might be a way around it. I'm not familiar with Eudora, so I don't know if that's possible. I'm using a Yahoo mail account with my DL, and I haven't run into any send or receive problems.

Anyone else?

Just an update as to my original problem sending email with my digital Link.

I have now upgraded my pacbell dsl service to the recommended yahoo dsl service and am now able to send and receive email w/o
any problems.
