Angry Weird VDx problem

I just started getting odd actions on my VDx - almost like a regular tapping at the top right corner of the screen, or slightly lower. Opening the ToDo screen, the drop-down list of categories opens, or the first ToDo's category is selected. In DBk4, the dates are advanced. In other applications, if there is an selection/action in the top right screen corner, it is selected. Or, if there is a slider bar on the right side of the screen, tapping the slider bar provides only "loose" control over the slider (i.e., the screen will continue to slide after lifting the stylus, or will delay before sliding)

This problem starts maybe 10 seconds after I turn on my VDx, and then repeats approx every 1-2 seconds.

However, it does appear to be non-regular...i.e., at times there is a delay of 5 seconds or so between episodes, other times it's less than one second.

If I manage to work around it...say, by entering a new ToDo, or by opening the Note section of the ToDo...the system is definitely slower, similar to having a hanging process in Windoze.

At first I thought this may have been a problem with DBk4 (newly installed a month ago), but it's occurs across all apps. I do have a bunch of apps on the VDx, of all types...although never got around to buying any modules. I think I've got better than 7 of the 8 mb used.

I've had my VDx for 2-3 years now....and it's probably had it's share of knocks. Does this sound like a hardware problem? Or potentially a system problem? Or could this be a persistant bug/flaw in one of the apps on my VDx...

TIA for your help...

Ed

1.) Are you using a screen protector, especially a 'slip in' type that may be tight in that corner and pressing on the screen some?

2.) Have you dropped the unit and maybe bent or twisted it a bit so there is a tiny bit more pressure there? Consider taking the device apart and checking the frame, connections, screen, etc.

3.) Maybe a button is sticky- maybe take it apart and clean them well.

4.) Maybe it IS Datebook 4. Contact Plimco to see if they have any thoughts!

Thanks for the response....

- I'm using a WriteRight screen protector...but it's been on there for over a month

- it is possible that the frame is twisted...I guess taking the VDx apart is an option, but only as a last resort

- I don't think it's a sticky button, since the same action happens not only when I use all 4 app buttons, but also when I select apps...but again, that may be correct via a manual disassemble.

- It's possible its DBk4 (or some other app)...since the whole system appears to be running slower than normal.

Thanks for the suggestions.
