Usless and unintended note attached to appointments when hot syncing with desktop 4.0

When I enter a new appointment on my Visor Deluxe using datebk4 and then hot sync with Desktop 4.0; a note is also attached each time. When I check the attached note in Desktop, it simply contains the "at" sign among other useless symbols. How do I stop the attachment of a useless and unintentional note to my appoitnments when I hot sync my Visor deluxe with desktop 4.0?

DateBk4 uses that note information for its own purposes. According to the DateBk4 manual:

quote:
Why is there funny stuff (like: ##@@@@@@@) in the Note Field?

This is normal if you look at an event on the desktop or in some other application. Information is encoded in the note field to track information for each event (Category, Icon, timezone, float/done, appt spanning midnight, etc.). It is hidden of course in Datebk4. See Format of the tagged note field for further information. This is the ONLY way that Datebk4 can add functionality beyond that provided for in the Datebook database while still maintaining 100% compatibility with the Datebook database and all third party applications that use it.

Thanks Mark. I pride myself on reading my manuals carefully. Obviously I did not get that done for this particular issue. Thanks for your insight and manual quote.
