Arrow Hot sync via cable--How dio I initiate?

I have a hotsync cable (as opposed to a cradle) and I don't know how to initiate the hotsync without the cradle button. I got the cable alone -- no data/instructions with it--.
Probably a simple foolish question -- but I'm ignorant in this regard and would appreciate a heads up from some of you who know what you're doing-- this is on an Edge--
Thanks much in advance--

Use the HotSync app on the Edge to start a sync.

Arrow

Believe it or not I tried that at first -- tapped on the hot sync logo in the middle of the screen and nothing happened--I just tried it again and it worked -- my digitizer is a bit fussy and doesn't always respond -- have to recalibrate pretty often---I should have suspected that --sorry -- and thanks -- your advise made me beat on the screen untill it worked--
thanks again
