I have both but I have been too scared to try it. I can tell you that the hands free that comes with the Digital Link does not work with the visor phone.

Long live the visor phone!

Both the handsfree headset and the battery work just fine with the VP.

No idea why your handsfree doesn't work, but the one that came with the Digital Link works great with my VP.

The battery works great too. If you put the VP battery in the Digital Link, you get a warning message. But the DL battery in the VP works just great. It's higher capacity, and it's a bit heavier, which makes the VP+Visor a bit more bulky, but it definitely works.

yes i called handspring and they told me they are the same battery so i ordered 2 sprintphones for 8$ shipping, i was trying to be slick about it and clear them out before anyone else finds out but too late now, so everyone get your free batteries while they last, also i dont know why your visorphone battery didnt work in the digital link i was told they were a perfect match, id appreciate it if you could look at the back of them and tell me what the ratings are if indeed you are right about the sprintphone being a higher capacity battery

Dang Me!

If what you all say is true, I missed a great opportunity. I just went to the Handspring website, and they now want $19.95 for one of these puppies! I guess that someone in Handspring sales got wise to what you guys were doing.

Still $19.95 is not a bad price for a new, higher capacity spare battery for my Visorphone, but FREE would have been even better.

Would one of you kind souls who got multiple units that you really don't need be kind enough to sent me just one battery if I pay for the shipping (UPS 3-day ground, or USPS ground)? If that cost is less than $10, just send it as Freight Due on Delivery (or whatever they call it), and I'll pick it up. If you live in the St. Louis area I will even drive over to get it!

Otherwise, I guess I will use my $10 off coupon on my next HS order so I won't have to pay two freight charges.

I can't believe they let you get away with that without signing up for phone service accounts for each one, like they did for the free Visorphones!

Incidentally, "Visorphones are no longer available at Handspring.com". Oh, yeah, like anyone is really going to pay the full $300 being charged at Amazon.com and other websites that still list them!

You can e-mail me if you want to take pity on me and send me one of your surplus batteries! I'll send the shipping address by return e-mail. Just remove the word "maps" (SPAM backwards)wherever it appears (This is so those Spambots can't harvest my e-mail address from this website)

[email protected]

Thanks!

I wasn't able to get the DigitalLink battery to charge in my VisorPhone, but of course it charges okay in the DL phone. I think the milliamp rating is substantially higher on the DL battery, accounting for the additional weight. Dimensions, however, appear to be identical.

apparently some people got ahold of some of these puppies and are selling them on ebay. i snagged one when nobody was looking. the battery on the VP is only 685 mAH - almost nothing. what's the rating on the DL battery? it should charge as they are the same type of battery - Li ions...
