Exclamation

I just received my Handspring newsletter and it has a paragraph announcing new radio and digital camera springboards. The radio SB will let you listen to the radio on your Visor and will also pick up traffic and weather updates broadcast on a data channel. The other announcement was for the Eyemodule camera. Check out the press releases below:

Radio SB: http://www.handspring.com/developer...r_cue020700.asp

Eyemodule: http://www.handspring.com/developer..._ideo020700.asp

Both of these look pretty cool. I can't wait for summer, I can already feel the bank account drain caused by all the springboards coming out in the next couple of months.

Hi All,
Is the Visor able to be a PocketTV?
I were thinking maybe it can be use with
a Video Camara or a VCR via a SB module.

Great idea. I'd love it if some company would come along and release a TV tuner Springboard. It seems technically feasible.

Lightbulb

Dear Sirs,
Another idea I had about the EYEMODULE coming out:
Can this company make special made zoom in len(s)and other types of camara lenses (sold seperately) can be attached to the EYEMODULE?
Maybe also provide a special mount for the Visor to be able to be place on a regular camara tripod.

Regards,
Byron

Forget the zoom and tripod mount, I'd settle for a flash. Without one, you're limited to outside shots or inside in a brightly lit room.

Hmmm,
What is the lighting sensitivity / picture quality of the EYEMODULE anyway?
Like can I take shots of fireworks at night?
Or how about dim lighted room shots?
I would guest a flash attachment is needed also. Can't be all that much a problem guy's, I guess. Hope they will look into this matter.

ByronC:

You can see the picture quality on IDEO's website:

http://www.eyemodule.com/gallery.htm

As far as the specs are concerned, the website says, "A Visor Deluxe with 5MB of free memory can store more than 500 small black & white images, or more than 125 large black & white images, or more than 25 color images."

My guess would be that pyrotechnic light sources like fireworks will be fine, though you may not see anything else in the picture. Tungsten (artificial) light will probably be too weak without a flash or tripod.

That TV tuner module you guys were talkin about before seems to me to be virtually USELESS...the Visor's speaker is crap and there is no way in hell that it can play sounds and speech from TV...at the most you'd be stuck with no sound and closed captioning for programs that support it...what I want to see is a springboard TV Tuner/Enhanced Speaker system
