Goodbye Minstrel/YadaYada, Hello Verizon

I've been an intermittent user of YadaYada's service via the Minstrel S springboard for the last year or so. I finally got tired of its unreliability (and my contract was up anyway), so I dumped the service recently.

Instead, I sprang for a cable to connect my Prism to my Verizon Startac, from Gomadic. I just got it today, and it seems to work great - at least as fast as the Minstrel, and the connection seemed to be stronger (although I admit that may be premature). It isn't unlimited minutes the way YadaYada is, but (a) I don't use wireless that much except when I'm travelling, and (b) for the $40 a month I spent on YadaYada, I can buy a lot more minutes.

YadaYada has been seemingly on the ropes for a while, and now rumors are circulating about Omnisky as well. I'm happy I found a new method of connecting wirelessly - this should hold me over until the color Treo comes out later next year.
