Anyone tried to use the MIK with their Prism or Platinum yet?

I have. It works great. Now I can run almost all Palm Query Apps on my Prism no problem.

In fact, that was the primary reason I decided to upgrade to a Prism.

Anyway, after you install all the wireless libraries, it works great. You can buy stuff from Amazon, track your FedEx packages online, etc etc.

Question

Are you connecting via infrared or is there a cable connection available. Also, anyone know if it's possible to use the Minstrel S to do this?

I haven't used the Minstrel S on it, but I have tried it via infrared on both an infrared-enabled mobile phone as well as with the normal wired modem (my Thinmodem from Card Access). Works fine either way.

I am curious if you can run strong encryption applications like E-Trade PQA with this kit? I have some palm VII libraries on my prism and I can run many PQA's but not all, I wonder if the kit solves that?

Palm Mobile Internet Kit and the Visor Prism

Tan,

I too am interested: I have a Samsung 8500. No IR port.
Where do you get a cable to connect the Visor Prism to
a "wired" phone?

Thanks,

There isn't any cable at the moment that I have seen anywhere. He was referring to using the kit with his Thincom Springboard modem.

Yep, sluggo got it right - I was referring to using the Thinmodem with a normal phone line. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough.

getting a mobile phone with IR is still the best solution. Remember though, that not all phones with an IR port will neccesarrily work - some phones use a non-standard IR standard.

Don't ask me what models work, as the phones available in Asia are vastly different internally, although some of them may look alike.

Palm's website has a list of all phones that work (according to them). Here's the link:
