Question use of visor in cold weather

Hi. We are using a combination of Neo and Deluxe Handsprings for the
collecetion of data in the field (animal populations, plant species zonation
&c). Anyway, winter is upon us and today we saw the first effects of cold
on the units. We were wondering if there is an external power solution for
handspring like there is for photographic equipment. I bought a Xircom wireless NIC
and it came with a DC power supply that plugs into the handspring and
charges up the unit, and the adapter has the pinouts labeles, so apparantly there is
a way to run current into the handheld -- i just have not seen any power related accessories that would be akin to those big external batteries that I use with photographic equipment.

Thanks for any pointers that you can provide. I would also appreciate battery recommendations if there is not something more elaborate. We are working on coming up with a home-made battery-operated heating wrap for the units in the meantime.

Cheers,

--chris
