Does the <shortcut>.8 work to reverse backlighting on the Visor? I've tried this and maybe I'm doing it wrong but all I get is the text [Inverting Backlighting] or [Normal Backlighting]. The backlighting itself doesn't seem to change.

I'm going to try this tomorrow when my Visor arrives. However, the best way to go about this is to get hackmaster and the backlight fix hack that is around somewhere. I forgot what it's called, but if you can't find it and know nothing about what I'm talking about, e-mail me and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction. Odds are that, once the Ice is in my hands, it'll be awfully difficult to put it down for at least 48 hours ;-)

It's called the GreenLight hack. Here's the link. http://www.palmgear.com/software/an...rch2=greenlight

Thanks! That hack solved the problem.

I've been able to get the backlight shortcut to work on my Visor Deluxe. I had to turn the Visor off and back on for the change to take effect, though.

KNolen,

Will you go through what you did, step by step? Immediately after the message appears, I turn my Visor Deluxe off and on, but still get nothing. Also, do you have your backlight on when performing the procedure?

You can also try BackdropEZ from twilightedge.com. In addition to allowing you to put a really cool "wallpaper" on your Visor (I have the Boston Bruins logo on mine), it lets you customize a lot of other stuff including reversing and un-reversing the backlight with just a couple of taps.

How did you do that?
I tried the shortcut several times, both with and without the backlight on and turning the Visor off and on again afterwards - to no avail... I get the beep and the message that the backlight now is normal/inverted, but I cannot see any change.
Are you sure that the shortcut really works on your Visor?

Unhappy

I've tried the above mentioned backlighting download and also one from www.twilightedge.com, My Visor crashed big time, both times (froze up) identical "fatal exception" error messages both times. My back up module couldn't even fix it. I actually exchanged my visor at Best Buy casue I thought it was fried. The next night I tried "Backlight EZ from twilightdege.com and the same exact thing happened. I had to hard reset and reload everything. I'd love to learn how to use this reverse backlighting thing but I am totally gun shy now after reloading all my info two nights in a row. Anybody else have similar problems?
