Now that I've got a handspring modem and doing basic syncing (and also using Avant Go), has anyone discovered any good Palm software to do web browsing, etc?

I know through shareware sites, etc., that several programs have been created inconjunction with the use of a Palm modem, so I'm curious if anyone has tried any of this stuff out. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go to a Palm discussion board and find out the scoop there.

Thanks,
Carl

Carl,

You can use AvantGo to browse the web. It isn't the greatest though.

Proxyweb is the best Web Browser for Palm Hands down, I think. I use HandMail for POP3 email, I've never tried proximail however. Another decent browser is called 'Handscape or PalmScape' can't remember. It doesn't use graphics, at all. but it has a very small memory footprint.

well, got the modem yesterday and i already had my proximail and proxiweb set up so it was a matter of plug and go! (sounds like a handspring commercial).

I'll agree that proxiweb is REALLY nice. It's easy to use and it's better than avantgo software when it comes to real time web surfing. i'll still keep avantgo for daily updates on certain news and stuff i don't have a URL for. It is also easier to just stick the visor in the cradle and update all the pages than to dial in and goto each page with proxiweb and store them in the cache.
My opinion, for a truly connected visor, keep avantgo for the daily syncing and use the modem (whether it be wire or wireless) with a program like Proxiweb for surfing and finding information on the spot.
I'm really starting to enjoy this thing!
