How do I set up a new computer to synch?

I downloaded and installed the Handspring hotsynch and desktop software. I get the error that the user already exists. Isn't it supposed to?

I tried copying my user files from the old mac to the new one and that didn't work either. The new system doesn't recognize it.

Any suggestins?

I was able to transfer everything to a new Mac without a problem. I installed the software on the new computer, copied over the User folder and the Conduits folder and I was in business. No problems.
