Sounds like some corrupted data, possibly involving an alarm or something.
Handspring.com has some decent helps on this issue, as do some other postings on VisorCentral.
You can load and try Plimco.com's database cleaner- that has helped me in the past.
You should also try a warm reset (press and hold 'UP', push the reset button, keep holding 'UP' until the screen displays the settings screen, then release 'UP'.) This will stop all processes- hopefully including the one you are seeing.
If this and none of the other ideas you will certainly be given helps, you will probably need to do a hard reset and reload your data (I really hope you backed up before this odd behavior started!)
