Unhappy Replacement unit arrived - new problems

I had to get my VDx replaced due to the display screen being loose. The replacement arrived today. I used my backup module to copy my old one to the new one. It was ok except it required a warm reset (soft reset wouldn't do). All my data/apps were present and accounted for so I boxed up the old unit to send back.

Of course, only moments after I finished boxing up the old one the new one just went blank while I was using it. The power button did nothing so I tried a reset. It worked fine but all my data was gone. I replaced the batteries just in case they caused the problem. I then restored my old data again. This time no amount of reseting would let me get past the "fatal exception" screen. It would start to boot up and then the reset screen was back. I did a hard reset, lost all data, and restored for the 3rd time. Back to the "fatal exception". This time I managed to get the reset to work. Now it is working ok, but for how long? Does anyone have any insight to what may have caused this?

I have 14 days to return my unit so I will probably take most of that time to be sure the replacement continues to work properly.

Did you have the HS Update installed on the old unit? If so, it was transferred to the new one when you did the restore and it's possible the new unit doesn't require it. Another culprit might be hacks in general. Try a warm reset (hold the UP button while resetting) and see if that works normally. After a warm reset, you should be able to remove the Update (if installed).

You are right in that I did have the update installed on the old unit. The new one did not have the update. I removed the file but still get the same fatal exception. I know some hacks can cause this but if one of them is the culprit, why didn't this happen with the old visor? I tried the warm reset because that is the only way it will let me reset and use the visor. I tested it with a soft reset (after it was working fine), with all hacks disabled, to see if the problem was clear and again I get the fatal exception. This makes me leary of sending my old one back, what if this one goes on the blink before they can get me a replacement for the replacement! I am very dependent on Mini-Me to remember all that I cannot!
