Lightbulb

Hi All.
I saw the news item on visorcentral last night about this new case. I have a Visor Pro and SprintPCS Wireless Web Digital Link.
I emailed the guys at Active Armor asking if they had testing the visor phone of WWDL and this is the answer I got:

"I have someone who is going to do a beta test on the VisorPhone in the next few days and I have feeling that it will be a close fit and I think the SprintLink might be a little larger. I'll do my best to get back to you in the next week or two when I get this product in the hands of my newest Beta tester.
In the meantime, we would appreciate it if you shared information on this case with any Handspring owners you know.
Regards,
Dan "

I eagerly await his answer on this. I didn't want to spend 50 or 60 on a case for my VPro and WWDL, so I got the Handspring VisorPhone case, and it works fine for me but I would like a case that I didn't have to take our my VPro to take on the phone.

Regards,
Paul

Cool Active Armor Size

Thorin,

Here's the data you wanted.

Handspring Visor vs. Visor in an Active Armor case.

- Depth
11/16" vs. 14/16" [ 1-1/16" max] ( 14/16" is the depth in most places and is the effective thickness when putting it in your pants pocket for example. The case is slightly deeper on the outside location where the stylus holders are located. This depth here is 1-1/16". )

- Width
3" vs. 3-1/4"

- Length
4-3/4" vs. 5-1/2" (This dimension is a bit longer than the Visor so that the Active Armor case can provide significant drop protection. There are interior ribs at the ends that extend to provide great corner protection since that is the location 95% of all drops will hit first. These ribs flex to absorb the impact.)

I hope this answers your questions.

Best Regards,
Dan

Thumbs up VisorPhone Compatible

OK.

As promised, we finally have enough feedback to recommend using the VisorPhone with the Active Armor case. Check out the attached web-link for picture and user comments... including some from VisorCentral members.
Active Armor Case / Visor Phone Web Page

Additional User Comments:

- Brian, Indianapolis, IN (Active Armor beta tester)
"This is the best daily-use VP case available today, bar none. The case is rugged, great to grip and easy to slip into a pocket or purse. Most importantly, it gives me immediate access to my VP, which eliminates the potential for lost calls - a common problem with other VP cases.

I'm a serious VP user, so I've tried a bunch of cases. Until now, the closest any one case got to perfect was about 50%. Active Armor seriously raises the bar to 90%, if not higher. I definitely recommend this case to any VP user tired of making due with other cases. This case is simply THE solution for VP users - period."

As far as the SprintPCS WWDL, we can't be as encouraging. We haven't tried this module out yet, but we are about 95% sure it will not fit. The WWDL module appears to be quite a bit larger than the VisorPhone and the case will not accommodate modules with "shoulders" taller than the VisorPhone. Sorry Paul.

Active Armor

I had corresponded with Dan, and the only thing that I had an issue with (and this is a problem with most cases, so not bashing on *just* the active armor design) is the inability to use a hot-sync cradle or Targus keyboard.

Other than that, it looks great. I may get one once the transparent ones are back in stock and see if I can shave enough
off of the bottom to allow from my KB.

If so, bliss!

Cheers!

Although, you CAN use a hotsync cable, and that is more than most cases can manage. As far as they keyboard goes, I usually take the my VPL out of the Active Armor before I use my Stowaway. After a while it gets pretty easy to do.
