Unhappy

Does anyone know of any easy solution to my problems with the backup module? Handspring tech support is baffled.

With a fully-loaded Visor Deluxe, the backup module goes into an "infinite-loop/suspend mode" (no activity for over an hour).

Finally, after a hard-reset, the module performed a formatting and backup process. I loaded 50k or so of data to be restored and it backed up. But, in the face of a full restore (via a trial version of Backup Buddy, it locks up.

Is it the volume of data or Back-up Buddy that may be interfering?

I use both the BM (backing up 6MB+ per backup) and BackupBuddyNG (backing up 10MB+ per backup) with no significant issues. So I don't think that the volume of info is the issue. Yes. BM did crash my Visor the first time that I used it, but since then there have been no problems. What you are describing sure sounds like a bad Hack interaction. Are you using EVPlugBase? If so, it is a well known Visor hater - use HackMaster instead.

Note that I only run Phlegm Hack (freeware workalike to Switch Hack) most of the time. I also use FindHack, FindIgnore Hack, TrekSounds Hack and Padlock Plus; but only activate them when "needed." I do regular soft resets so I don't run into the HackMaster 9th time on crash bug.

Of course, there is always the possibility that your Visor or your cradle is defective.
