I tried this post in the springboard section a month ago, but nobody responded so I thought I's repost it here in the troubleshooting section:

Does anyone know if the 8mb module develops memory fragmentation as one adds and deletes files from it? When I used FlashPro on my old PalmPilot Personal (with 2mb upgrade) there was a built in defragmentation utility to take care of this. I would expect the 8mb module to also develop fragmentation as it seems to work just like the Flash ROM on my old device. Unfortunately, the filemover app that comes with it doesn't report on fragmentation status of the module.
