Minstrel S

I have a question about the Minstrel S. Does it have to use someones wireless service to work? Does it have any use with local internet access like my own dial-up? HandanGo.com has them for $49.00. I would get it if I can use it to dial up to my current ISP and access my mail that way.

Yes, as with any wireless device, you need service through a provider that supports the Minstrel.

Then my quest for a $20 wired modem continues. I'm glad that I paused before finishing my purchase.

I have a AT&T plan for $8 a month (base) but I have to pay for every byte of data I get.
