Lightbulb

I've been holding back for months in my decision of buying a Memory or Modem module. I cannot wait any longer and I am giving Innogear a dealine for bringing the so called "SixPack." If I don't hear from them by March or before I will make my final decision in buying the Thinmodem+, which has the two most important things I need. Memory and Modem are in fact the two more useful things you will use if you ever get to buy the sixpack. Buying the Thinmodem+ means that I will not buy the sixpack if it shows up after March 2001.

What about you guys?

Al

Actually, I'd rather have the 8 mb memory and the voice recorder instead. I already have a modem, but I'd love to have the record feature.

What I don't understand is why more module makers don't provide access to their flash like the Thinmodem does. It would make develoment so much easier if they could use fiule mover, and it would also provide more functionality to customers.

Look at the Minstrel S! It's got 2M of flash, but not only doesn't Omnisky give you access to it, they copy it to RAM when you plug it in!

The YadaYada Minstrel S comes with the File mover app, although it does copy a whole lot of files to the Visors memory too.

Talking I want one!

The thinmodem+ sounds like and EXCELLENT product, and here's why I think so:

You can use up the memory on the handheld real quick, having extra for big apps would be nice. - so a memory upgrade is one of the most valuable additions to a visor.

Avantgo is nice, but even nicer would be the ability to look at stuff online, and even send, receive emails, use instant messaging, and even post to this here board. It can also be used to synchronize while away from home. - so a modem is one of the most valuable additions to a visor.

Visors are big enough as it is, especially the Prism. Having a module that fits entirely into the slot is necessary. That way, users who have investments in cases for their Visors can still use them.

Very well worth the money, and slim.
That's all that matters.

(8MB Flash RAM (can't hold anything that needs to be synced or modified), v.90 56k? somewhere around $150?)

The last two bits of info are nothing more than informed guesses, but If they're true, it would be an excellent investment. (or at least I think it would.)
