Question AOL & Visorphone

Okay, I've searched but can't find good instructions.

I'm trying to use AOL with my Prism & Visor Phone.
I downloaded AOL 2.0 (30) from the site.

I put in my local access number & try to log onto AOL.
It looks like it's connecting and then gives me a no carrier (0x1102) error.

My service is thru Powertel aka Voicestream.

Any help is very appreciated!

I signed up for beta testing so i could could get the newest version (i think it's 3) and once i entered a local access # it worked just fine. Are you actually putting in a number or are you trying to GET a local access number? If it is the latter just put one in manually.

Glad to hear yours is working.

I actually put in my own access number (same one I can use from home).

I saw a couple of threads about AOL 3.0 but have not been able to find it. Is that what you are using?

Thanks for the reply!!!

I believe you can go to keyword anywhere beta to sign up for testing. Or email me and i can send it to you. Last i checked it went gold master so it should be released soon.

Are you using the AOL for Palm Wireless, or the normal version? The normal is for people with land modems, you'd want the wireless version. I don't think I can link you, but here's how I got it. Keyword: Anywhere, at the drop down list click handhelds, then palmos, then wireless device

Well, it's for the Palm VII, but it also for any device with a wireless connection.

I'm using the palm version (but not the wireless one).

It's supposed to be for a palm with a modem
(Visor with visorphone).

I couldn't even get handsprings tech support automated fill in an email question to work!

What a day!

For now i think it's best to go for the anywhere beta. I've heard alot of people having issues with the other versions. I haven't had any problems with my beta 3.
