quick sale - amazon's price was up to $59.94 by saturday morning, and Targus made their offer good only for purchases at targus.com....

Valid rebate info

The rebate you want can be found on http://www.RebatesHQ.com. It's not the one on Targus' web-site, or the one linked to in the article.

Go to http://www.RebatesHQ.com, click on the "Get your Rebate" button, go to the "Search by Product:" field, search for "02-48443", and select the one for the "PA800U KEYBOARD".

The rebate is valid on purchases through 10-31-2002, and has to be mailed by the last day of November.

It doesn't mention anything about having restrictions on where it has to be purchased from, so it looks like Amazon is ok.

Amazon has jacked up their price to $60, but the rebate is still good if you still want one for $30.

Okay, not quite sure now...

I just talked to RebatesHQ, and they're not quite sure what is going on...

I asked them about the rebate just to make sure everything was okay, but I found a few red-flags.

First off, on their Web-site it doesn't list any restrictions on where it has to be purchaced from, but their system says it's valid only for Circuit City.

Then I did a little research on CircuitCity.com, and found the rebate w/ the same Rebate number, but a different end date (8/15/02 instead of the 10/31/02 date listed on the web-site).

My Stowaway is on backorder at Amazon until the middle to end of October, and RebatesHQ said it will take "15 business days" to research this. I will try calling back in a few weeks to get the final say on this one, so I should be able to cancel my order from Amazon before they ship if there is anything fishy going on...

I gave up

I gave up. I found a Stowaway $29.50 on closeout at my local Staples store.

I cancelled my order w/ Amazon. Too much weird stuff.

I took a chance on Amazon a couple days ago even though it showed back ordered. Received notice that it shipped yesterday.

Also received notice that it was shipped yesterday.

Note: Some staples locations are selling Stowaways for the Edge for $10.

The ones I've seen are located in Southeastern PA near Philadelphia.
