Thumbs up

I was fortunate enough to be a SoundsGood beta user and just got released from my NDA. This product is awesome. The file transfer speed is great. I haven't seen the competitor yet, but apparently SoundsGood is 7 times faster than the minijam. I can't imagine waiting 30 minutes to change my play list on an MP3 player. The desk-top software if slick too. It searches your entire hard drive for MP3's and then allows you to drag and drop them quite easily into your music loader. The battery pack seems like it will be cool too. It will let me take the player biking without stuffing my entire Visor into a pocket. Overall I think it would be a mistake to go with the slower and less versatile minijam. SoundsGood is the way to go.

less versatile?

Boy, Bingo, your review is so one sided, I'll bet your email address has a good.com at the end of it... :-)

I'll give you the transfer speed factor, and it is a big plus for the SoundsGood... BUT in what whay possible is the SoundsGood more versatile than the MiniJam? Where's the expandability, extra storage, decent earbuds, and, what looks like, much easier to use buttons?

I'm not saying that if the SoundsGood was the only springboard MP3 player in town, I wouldn't buy it. I just think the MiniJam (not aking into account shipping/delivery woes) is the better product.

My e-mail address isn't good.com but I believe most the beta users
personally know someone at Good one way or another. In terms of versatility
-- I was referring the my ability to carry the audioplayer inside my Visor
and be able to put my Visor in my case. Also, the versatility the battery
unit will afford me. Expandability is covered by the fact that you can
update the software on the module to support additional formats in the
future ... they say WMA is coming soon. I also haven't had a problem with
the buttons.

One thing people haven't mentioned is that competition is good, no matter
what. Because Good and Innogear are duking it out -- we, as the customers,
will benefit.

Hope you enjoy the MiniJam as much as I enjoy my SoundsGood.

Sincerely,
Matt a.k.a. Bingo

Arrow

Man people are hitting these two modules

Both modules have great things going for them:

SoundsGood has fast xfer speed, longer battery life, and is standard-size.

MiniJam has MMC expandability, extra software, and Mac compatibility.

You really can't go wrong with either of them -- personal taste is going to impact your decision more than anything.

Right now, the SoundsGood is more attractive to me, based largely on the single-height form factor. But let's see what kind of accessories Innogear's announcing this weekend when the website's updated.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

I find it an amazing coincidence that some months ago, someone with the handle "HotVisorBabe" appeared on the board, posted some cut-and-paste from Innogear's press releases (even including references to "our product!"), and then vanished.

My minijam is pretty real to me..

Fake? What's fake? sassyvisorbabe, maybe he/she/it is fake.

Got my minijam sitting right here in front of me, looks pretty real to me, sounds real too.. Unless it's a 24th century holodeck hologram..? "Computer, end program.." , (nothing changes), guess it's real. I also tend to doubt I am actually prisoner in a computer "MATRIX" as well..

Haven't seen a soundsgood module to verify it, but I am guessing it's also pretty real too..

I know what you mean, John. I just checked out all of the Bingo and HotVisorBabe posts. One poster is obviously related to Innogear, and the other to the Good...

It's kinda comical (cursing aside... and there is cursing so be warned), if you look at the responses to the reviews of each product, how one company's bashing the other company (it's obvious), while praising their own wear.

Check it out:

Of course, Bingo said right up front he's a Good Beta Tester, so he gets points for that.

Exclamation

Take what these newbies (who joined in September) say with a grain of salt. I for one only listen to recommendations from veterans of the board.
