I keep tapping the "calculator" icon by mistake when trying to scroll down in other apps by tapping on the bottom scroll arrow. Is there any way to avoid this? Can I make the scrolling arrows appear somewhere else?

I've had my Visor for all of 6 hours and it's my first PDA, so forgive me if this is a stupid question....

Unfortunately, you're not the first to post this particular problem --- and it is a problem. The 1/16" just above the Calculator button starts the Calculator button.

It does not do this on my PalmPilot Pro and I never activated my Calculator app in error on that device.

I don't know if this a hardware or software problem. If it is a software problem, maybe Handspring will release a patch or someone will write a Hack.

OK, so it's not just me.

I'm trying to develop the habit of using the scrolling buttons, which of course eliminates the problem if I can remember to always use them. Nevertheless, I hope the Handspring folks fix this.

this one bugs me too... glad it wasn't just me being a lousy scroller... I don't ever remember this happening with the Palm III or the Palm V...

I also notice that using Graffiti isn't exactly the same either... a little slower?? I'm not sure... it just doesn't seem to follow my letters as well as the Palm. I'm still pretty happy with my Visor...

hope they fix the calculator thing tho... I was actually thinking of deleting the calculator to fix it... I'm not even sure that is possible...

I was getting the calculator even when I hit right on the scroll icon. I solved it by resetting the digitizer found in "Prefs". I think that originally i just set it too quickly and I wasn't accurate on at least in the lower right. I never accidentally get the calculator any more.

Bottomline: If you tap the scroll button, you will scroll; miss it and you possibly get the calculator.

Accuracy in tapping is key.

Nitpicking,

Weren't you going to change your name, or was that someone else? Anyway, in the troubleshooting forum they have great advice for fixing this. It involves changing your digitizer as someone earlier alluded to. It worked GREAT for me. Follow this link http://www.visorcentral.com/visor/d...TML/000027.html

Good luck

See post by "Wes" in Troubleshooting section. Apparently, all that needs to be done is resize the screen dimensions under Preferences. When it asks you to touch the lower right corner of the screen, just touch a little low (another post said about .5 mm low). This will make the Visor think there is more screen below the scroll arrow and fix the problem.

Change my name? Nope, not me. Didn't even change it when I got married.

I will try resizing in the prefs. Thanks!
