I don't know what features you're talking about that aren't as "cool," but there are a couple of features the Minijam has that standalone models lack: it can be used as with the Visor's microphone as a voice recorder, and the memory cards can store anything -- not just MP3s. Not that the Minijam couldn't be more competitively priced, but if I was going to get a standalone audio player and economics was the main consideration, I'd go for a MiniDisc player. But since I've got a laptop already loaded with MP3s, I'm going for Minijam.
