The Minijam will cost under $100 with 0 mb and you will have to buy a memory card expansion that goes into the Minijam. Those can be found at www.sandisk.com. They go from 8, 16, 32, to 64 mb and cost around 100 dollars. Or you can buy the minijam with a 64 mb module in it for around $230.

I dont see hoow they will be able to sell those. They are not cheaper than standalone mp3 players and the features are not as cool.

I am pleased with the product which appears to have been redesigned. You can certainly do more with the product than originally planned. I'm looking forward to purchasing one and can't wait for a battery pack so I can also take it jogging and to the gym without worrying about damaging my Visor.
One is planned right innogear?????

I don't know what features you're talking about that aren't as "cool," but there are a couple of features the Minijam has that standalone models lack: it can be used as with the Visor's microphone as a voice recorder, and the memory cards can store anything -- not just MP3s. Not that the Minijam couldn't be more competitively priced, but if I was going to get a standalone audio player and economics was the main consideration, I'd go for a MiniDisc player. But since I've got a laptop already loaded with MP3s, I'm going for Minijam.

The only thing that is cooler about standalone MP3 players is that they are out now.

My Rio PMP300 cost me $79 after rebates, and that's including 32MB of RAM. A springboard with NO Memory that uses the Visor for it's screen output, should DEFINETLY cost less than a fully functioning stand alone unit. Innogear is insane if they think these things are going to sell. Get over it, buy a backup module to fill that space on the back of your Visor.

I'll be getting the MiniJam anyway, for the following reasons:

1) the first Rio 300 I got sounded absolutely
terrible, as did the one I got as a replacement when I sent the first back as defective. Skipping, fading in and out when I shook the unit... just awful.

2) The MiniJam will be able to read text files.

3) The MiniJam can be used as extra storage. While I don't think it's likely I'll need to carry around all 42+ megabytes of DOC files and maps and such I have, it's nice to have the option.

The only thing I'd prefer, honestly, is a Type 2 CF slot over two MMC slots.

I agree with John Nowak, I would rather have the type II CF slot rather than the two MMC slots!
