Question

I used FontHack on my IIIxe successfully, with no problems, but when I tried [yesterday] to use it on my Prism, it REALLY did some weird things. Is anybody using it successfully on a Prism? I'd appreciate knowing if it's incompatable or if it's [most likely] user error. I just want a bigger font to read books with . . . <sigh> thanks in advance for your help! You're a terrific bunch!

Additionally, are there any known hacks that DO NOT WORK with a prism? [trying to avoid aggrevation . . . ]

Have no fear! You just need to use FontHack123. Works on the prism. Check palmgear or handango.

Since Day 1!

Iv'e been using Fonthack 123 Since Day 1 and no problems here! Well actually the only problem I've had, Ever, is when I have to do a restore from backup. Hackmaster doesn't keep which fonts I want to use and sets them all to none Which can cause some problems (Fatal Errors). Well I found an easy workaround. Since I use Teallaunch anyways (Which RULES!) And have one of the mappings set to Hackmaster, After a restore and the required reset I activate my hacks then go directly to hackmaster and setup the Fonts to their correct settings. No problems at all

If you are going to run fonthack123 on a Prism, you should try the "Palm IIIc New" font. I got it at palmgear a while ago. It's listed as "Readability fonts for Palm IIIc 1.0" and the link is:

http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...amp;prodID=6286

The characters in this font are made up entirely of line segments at right angles to each other. This may sound nasty, and when you fist look at it, it is ugly. On the advice of one of the palmgear reviewers, I left it on my machine for a few days to give it a shot. I have never gone back.

This font dramtically improves the readability of the display used on the Prism and IIIc. Anyone with one of these devices should give it a shot.

When I first got my Prism and transfered all my programs over from my previous PalmIIIx, I found that FontHack would crash the Visor every time I tried to enable it. Is that your problem? Someone on these boards discovered that you have to delete a file "AppFontData2". I found I had to do it by hand with a utility like Z'Catalog. After you delete this file, set your font options again and enable the hack, and it should work fine. You'll have to repeat this operation if you ever have to restore after a hard reset. Hope that helps.
