Question

I'm new at this - would appreciate a little help. Data syncs perfectly from handheld to IMac; but, data inputted on the IMac doesn't reach the Visor. Am I missing something? Tried soft reset and that didn't help. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I don't know why it wouldn't default to the right settings, but first try opening the Hotsync manager and looking at the conduit settings. They should be set to synchronize, but there are options to go only one way, which could get set to be the default, I s'pose.

The other thing to watch out for is to make sure that the data entered on the imac is saved in the User Data file...I had a problem where I had a different file open on the imac than the one that was in the Palm folder, which is where the visor was looking for info. However, this should affect info going from Visor to imac as well as the other way around, so I'm not sure that would account for your problem unless you did the silly thing that I did - install the Palm desktop, hotsync, see that info from the visor had moved, and then open a different user file and hotsync again. The Visor was still looking at the original user data file and didn't detect any changes.

Hope this helps.

Especially Pogue's Guide. He goes into detail, but the basics are that the data flow is not 100% (notes & attachments for example). I think if you follow his suggestions it'll solve the problem. Post a note if it does!

Yup! You made a correct analysis. I had inadvertantly made a second data file; was typing info into that one, and of course the Visor was communicating with the other one! Thanks for the suggestion. All seems to be working the way it's supposed to at the moment.

Question

I am having a similar problem. I did the first hotsync fine. Now any changes, whether made on the desktop (outlook or palm software) or on the Visor are not taking. I went to the device manager -all is well, changed the conduit settings for sync, overwrite (both ways), checked that there was only one user file etc. . .
New files are added, but no changes take place.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks!

Wink

I figured it out! Somehow, I installed "PocketMirror" and I had to change those settings.
I'm glad that is solved, now onto the next challenge!!
