Exclamation

I see that Visors are now officially available in the Antipodes. Great news for folks Down Under, but I can't help wondering at the price margins involved. Working with the South Pacific Peso currently sucking at almost exactly US$.50, I compared the prices of various models and modules from Handsprings US and AU sites:

Edge: US$399, AU$899 (112%)
Prism: US$449, AU$1049 (116%)
Platinum: US$299, AU$699 (116%)
Deluxe: US$199, AU$519 (130%)
Visor: US$149, AU$349 (117%)
so far, all fairly constant, but now the modules...

Tiger Woods: US$30, AU$99 (165%)
Backup: US$40, AU$129 (161%)
8MB Flash: US$80, AU$249 (155%)

Since the Australian prices all include tax (GST), the prices of the actual Visors themselves are pretty much in line, but those module prices are just exorbitant - somebody's making a serious profit margin somewhere along the line.

Maybe I should pack a few modules in my suitcase next time I head back to Oz.
