Here's a few pictures I took on my new eyemodule (just got it today!).

Resolution isn't great, but it's better than I expected. The button placement *is* a bit hard to get used to, and I found myself getting into all sorts of wierd contortions to both aim the lens and see the screen at the same time (note the fact that the visor screen has a pretty wide viewing angle is very important here!). Also comes with a nifty little carrying bag (see picture).

Thanks for the pix. I've been wanting to see more actual pictures before I decide to get this. What is the minimum distance you can use the eyemodule?

I know I don't have one, but I was just thinking. It might be easier to hold the visor vertically sideways so that you are looking 90 degrees from your object then just rotate the image later. That way, it would be easier to hold the camera at eye level.

A friend in my office found a bug in the eyemodule today (mine hasn't arrived yet)...he said the first picture you take each time you start disappears. Anyone else have this problem?

The documentation indicates objects should be at least 18" away, though some of the pix I took were no more than 6" away and they came out OK. As for holding it sideways, I think it would still feel wierd, since the objects you are photographing would be off to your right.

I was stoked to see that my eyemodule arrived today! The pix aren't bad at all, it will be lots of fun! In response to the questions above, I took a couple pictures from a few inches away, and they were fine. I read some other posts earlier about the sideways method, and I think someone from IDEO liked and recommended that. I have a feeling we will all learn some new moves trying to get the right angle with our eyemodules.

Happily, I have not had the 'lose-the-first-picture' problem.

I am going to buy stock in a battery company, though. Maybe that way I will break even.

Just received my eyemodule but the cd was all cracked. The good news is that after speaking to 2 other reps at PalmGear, I finally got put through to someone who promised to next day air out a replacement CD with a prepaid return envelope for the damaged cd. That's pretty good customer service. If only they had packed it in a box...

great pictures Rob!

they actually were alot better than i thought the module was capable of. i saw the article where the guy takes pictures of the batteries and they were horrible. i guess he just didn't know what he was doing.

Now my fear is this battery drain....

Is it that bad? Can you give me time of usage vs. approx. % battery drop?

Arrrrg!

I've only used my (new) EM a few times. Problem is: It won't take pictures if the batteries are below about 2.5V

Well, I use NIMH and it's not long after I have the batteries out of the charger that the voltage is at or below 2.5!

I really don't want to use Alkaline! Besides, I was hoping to buy a FullCharge, but if the EM can't handle NiMH unless they're fresh out of the charger, I'm not going to get that either!
