First, thanks to VC for such a quick delivery. I was too cheap to pay for the overnight, so I was thrilled when my case showed up less than a week after placing my order.

Anyway, I thought I would let others know that they made a modification to the E&B Slipper. There is now an opening for the reset hole! I was planning on just punching a hole it in myself, but now I don't have to worry about making a mistake.

I did have a question for other Slipper users.....getting the Visor into the case is a tight fit, and it is even harder to get out. Not really a reason to pull it out now, but I was wondering how much the leather will stretch. The real reason is because the 2 velro strips on either side of the screen don't quite line up with the strips on the flip cover. So, for the moment the flip cover doesn't stay closed to well.

I was also curious about the pocket in the flip cover. From the descriptions I have read, there is a slot for a credit card, but mine also have a slot down the length of the cover, not quite long enough for money unless it is folded, but more pockets in the cover means alot to me.

All in all, I am pretty sure the fit will loosen up.....but this is a great case! It will be a hell of alot better than the belt clip case I made with the Slip Case included with the Deluxe. Now I have to start saving for the Vaja case.........

The fit will loosen up with time... my Slipper is going on 5 months old and has "relaxed" quite nicely. I can insert and remove the Visor without much effort but it won't fall out on its own without rough handling. This will also make syncing easier as time goes on as well. Took mine only a week or two to conform to the cradle. One hint, if you need to use the little disc E&B supplies: place it just slightly below the current notch on the Visor (approximately the thickness of the leather). I love this case!!!

Glad to hear it now has a hole for the reset.

I have never been able to sync with the case on, unless i hold the visor down. I take the visor out of the case to sync.

I tried the disk but it didn't help holding the visor down to make the connection to the cradle.

I was wondering about the disk....from what I would guess, it just props the Visor up enough to help with the contacts.......but why stick it to the Visor, why not stick it on the cradle...unless you have more than one cradle...I would assume that would work.

The disc simulates the "hole" on the back of the Visor. The cradle has a tab that engages the Visor to hold it in place during syncs. The disk is used to move the hole in order to compensate for the thickness of the leather at the docking connector, therefore it needs to be attached to the Visor and not the cradle.

One thing I was really thrilled about with my E&B case. I always had a hard time getting it to sync with the case on as well.

But I can use it in the stowaway keyboard with the case on very easily.

I dunno, that just seemed to add yet another "gee whiz" factor to the whole stowaway/visor/E&B case combination.

Not clear about this case -- comments here and in the review refer to the velcro closure, but the photo included in the review seems to also show a snap closure

Not sure which picture you are referring to, but there is no snap for the E&B Slipper. It uses 2 short (about an inch) and thin pieces of velcro on either side of the screen. If you look very carefully at the picture in the review where the Visor is in the cradle, you can see the velcro. I am not thrilled with that part. When I put a few things into the flip cover the velco doesn't make contact very well, and the cover keeps flapping around. I wish there was a different way to hold the cover down. If anyone has a 'do-it-yourself' idea for this one, I would love to hear/see your suggestions. Other than that, the only problem I seem to have it getting the modules in and out. Since the Visor is so hard to get out of the case, it is a pain. But, as others have said it will, I assume the leather will relax, and it won't be a problem.

I think what you are seeing is the metallic E&B logo which is on the bottom right corner of the slipper's cover.

BTW I just ordered my deep discounted slipper today and it's already shipping.

I have also had trouble hot syncing since I got my Slipper case. I always had to hold my Visor in place for it to work. I didn't want to take my Visor out of the case to hot sync. I tried the sticker that came with the case, and I don't know if I didn't line it up right or what, but it only worked once or twice. 90% of the time it didn't work.

Today I tried taping a penny just above the plastic tab on my cradle, and it started syncing perfectly every time! The back of my Visor rests against the flat coin.

It looks like the tab was making the Visor sit unevenly in the cradle. The coin provides enough of a surface so it sits flat, which seems to have been all it needed.

If you have had trouble hot syncing like I have, I hope this idea helps you out.

. . . it does work it does.

I just tried it at work (taping penny), put the visor in with out taking it out of the slipper and push the hot sync buttun. It started syncing (and is syncing as I type).

Good job.

Now I have to find another penny for the home cradle.:-)

I can't believe it! I've had my Slipper for several months and had only been able to synch by holding it down in the cradle. I just tried the penny trick and it works!

Hmm. I'm using the slipper with the little plastic disk and having no problems. I've only had it for about a week. I can stick the Visor, slipper and all, in the cradle, and it grips securely enough for me to pick up the Visor, with the cradle still attached...

I guess you just have to get the tab in the right place (that's the only thing I can think of, since our Visors, Slippers, and Cradles are all the same).

I know using a penny sounds strange, but it works for both of my cradles!

I also realigned the sticker they provided, and it seems to work better without the penny. But you have to be pretty exact (or lucky) with the placement.

Line up the hole on the sticker with the hole on the back of the Visor. Then move the sticker down about 1 mm, to compensate for the leather case.

Try to lock the Visor into the cradle. Keep adjusting until it locks in. If it doesn't lock in it won't sync properly. Hopefully it will get lined up before it loses all of its stickiness.

If this doesn't work, keep using the penny

I am hoping when -if- the infomitt pager comes out, that I can cut (and sew the edges) a hole in the top of the slipper case so that I can open an close the case with the pager in it. I have to carry a pager at work, it would be great to toss it.
