Consider this an unscientific poll...

You can (theoretically) buy an AM/FM springboard module for your visor. The software interface lets you tune, select band, store 10 to 20 stations and add their names (call letters) to each entry. The hardware has a stereo earphone jack, volume up/down toggle, and a "next station" button. All on the top of the module. The module is minimum springboard size, adding no size to your visor. Pressing the "next station" button when the radio and visor was OFF would turn it on and tune to the last station it was on. To turn it off you could simply hold this button down for three seconds. All these controls can be reached while your visor is in your shirt pocket. It sells for $29.95 + shipping.

Hypothetical radio module

I choose a), if the receiver sensitivity and selectivity weren't compromised by my VDX's likely RF problems!

A fun feature would be to include a signal strength indicator on the display.

How hard would it be to add support for the gov't weather stations?

So are you going to build one, or are you just teasing us?

a), although I think that radio is dying, I still would like the idea, expecially for only 30 bucks.

Keep in mind it *HAS* to include AM radio (now that Art Bell is coming back on the air). I've heard that someone's working on an FM-only radio, but that would not interest me. AM, please!!!

...actually, do you have an option for "Buy one in half a second"??

BEN, as for thinking that radio is dying, I'd say not yet. Radio is very strong in rural areas (esp. Mexican and country stations), and the country's conservatives have a true voice through radio (interesting juxtaposition of mainstream = TV, conservative = radio).

but on another note.... is this poll for... marketing research? i hope it is and this will push you intop coming out with a module that does those. i would definately pay for it, freaking cueradio for $150 no freakin way. $30 or even $40 if ther were a few more features....

a)in a second . . . Add the ability to turn on at an appointed time (like Big Clock) or a reminder, and I would pay $40 for a travel alarm with radio.
