Faster IR HotSyncing?

Infrared HotSync:

Does anyone know why the Handspring VISOR limit the IR communication speed to 57,600 bps? I thought the IR standard could go to 115.2 kbps? can the VISOR speed be increased for IR HotSyncing?

Try this

Tap the Hotsync Icon, go to the menu, select Connection Setup

Create a new configuration, set Connection Method to IrCOMM to PC.

Tap Details, set connection speed to 115200 bps, OK, OK, Done.

Below the big hotsync button on the screen, select the new connection method you just set up, and then tap the hotsync button on the screen.

if the IR port on your PC is set up for 115200 bps, then hopefully the IR sync should go speedily.

It's a tip I originally found over at PalmGear's Tips & Tricks section a while back. Works very well for speeding up serial and USB connections too.
