I was wondering if since the visor cradle has USB, you could somehow plug a usb keyboard into it (like the imac keyboard) without buying an $80 portable one.

I'm not sure becuase I don't have one but my understanding (this is how my pilot is built) is that the cradle has no connection, just a built-in cable that has the male usb at the end. Even on the cradle inlet or the Visor outlet, it looks more like a PCMCIA slot (or rather a cell phone) connection. So the special palm keybords have that connector on them, you would have to rewire a regular keyborad.

The Visor's cradle is not much more than a glorified USB cable. What I mean is that the cradle is a pass-through of the USB cable that connects to your computer to the specialized connector on the Visor, which hosts the USB controller. There is no port on the cradle to accept an USB plug.
