I just got an e-mail from YadaYada with a promotional offer to get the modem for free if I sign up for 12 months of service. Here's where it links to:

I got the same email...

It is really, really tempting... (and I can tell the wife "But the modem is free! "

However, does anyone know:

1-How to find maps of coverage
2-How the service compares to GoAmerica/Omnisky?

Thanks!

I ordered and received my modem last week for $149 and 6 months of service. So I sent Yada an email today asking them about receiving credit for the $149 I spent on the modem in exchange for 6 additional months. I'll keep you all informed on their response.

but I can't zoom in... I'd like more detail than that

Wink Managed to get the order through

and through some creative clicking, I signed up for 6 months of the service instead of 12. Here's hoping everything goes well!

You can also find out if it is available in your area by beginning the sign up process. It asks for your zipcode right away. They still aren't available in Phoenix!

6 MONTHS VS. 12 MONTHS

DESIGN8R HOW DID YOU ONLY HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR 6 MONTHS OF SERVICE VS. THE 12? WHAT CREATIVE CLICKING DID YOU DO?

Talking Yada Yada Promotion

Thanks to James Hromadka for promptly posting the Yada Yada promotion. I ordered the modem for my Prism and can't wait to go wireless.
Someone asked for a coverage map. Go to:
http://wireless.palm.net
Click COVERAGE MAPS and enter your zip code, it's that simple.

Hope this helps...

Recruiter,
I'm pretty sure the coverage maps for Palm.net are not the same as what Yada Yada is offering. Would be nice though, because Palm.net has a lot more coverage, including where I live!

James,
What's up with not giving me credit for posting this in your article? j/k

Talking

I've looked at both maps linked in this forum, and I've had YY for almost a month. I think the Palm.net map is pretty accurate. In Austin, coverage is pretty good, but spotty in my apt in outskirts of town. The Verizon map shows no Dallas, but when I traveled there a couple of weeks ago, coverage was strong. Take your chances, if it doesn't work, return it! Blazer and PQA files run very good. I got rid of all but the YY email program, and am very happy!

Pricing?

What exactly is the pricing? Following the Verizon link, I got pricing for phones and wiresless web. Where can I find out the pricing from Houston, TX to whereever for however long?

Atlanta Coverage

Does anyone know if the Atlanta area is covered.. I looked at verizonwireless area and even typed in my zip in the yada yada request. No dice. However, it does show up on the palm.net map...any insight?

A couple of questions

Does anyone know if there is a 30-day return policy with this new deal?

If you cancel prior to the year, are you obligatd to buyout the contract?

Is the service optimized for color browsing.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Angry

I just did the same thing as "Brooklyn." I've actually had my Minstrel S for almost 3 months, but I got mine while they were still calling it "beta." I've been struggling with the Visor Deluxe - strangely it works on my original, but not yet with my "optimized." Regardless, I sent them an e-mail telling them how annoyed and disappointed with them I am. We'll see if they respond at all.
