hotsync problem under win 2000 - user account problems

Hello.

I'm system administrator in our company. One of my user will like to connect his Visor prism with notebook Compaq armada e 700. Evrything works great if I log in on notebook with administrator account. But hotsync doestn't work if I log in as normal user (power user). I change user rights for this user to "administrator rights" but this user still can't syncronize with prism.

Operating system on notebook is Windows 2000.

Do you have and idea what else can I do?

thank for your help

Do not know if this will solve the problem, but you might try this: Reinstall the desktop software while logged in as the specific user. I think this might work because: The install puts several entries in the registry for the current user.

Question hot sync & win2000

I just recently had laptop changed to 2000 and hotsync prompt system to discover new visor device. even though software & hotsync icon is visable.

I think will reinstall software and let u know if it helps.

As I recall, you have to give the user administrator privs, then install from their account, then you can remove the admin privs (back to power user).
It either says this somewhere in the docs or it told me when I tried to first install on w2k.
good luck

thanks for help

Thanks for all your help.

Everything works great now. I give normal user admin rights, then install software and change the user back to normal user.

bye
