Thumbs up

I have called handspring so many times about the new drivers that they took my name and phone number down. On Friday (2/11/00) I got a message on my answering machine from Handspring wanting me to be a beta tester for the new USB Win2K drivers - they said they just wanted to doa one to two week beta test and then they were going to release the drivers after the final bugs were Ironed out/

I have ten people that I work with, and we all have Visors and Win2K. Our entire team would love to be beta testers. Heck, we would have loved to have been alpha testers.

Finally!

Win2k drivers - if Handspring needs any more beta testers, I'd be perfectly willing.

Finally! I've been using the latest Linux kernel with the USB Visor code. But I can't sync with my MS Outlook using that. I'll gladly be a beta tester for this. How do I get hooked up?

Thank you for your interest in Handspring.

Unhappy

Ii emailed them this morning about this, and here is the response I got.. strange..

Dear Scott,
We at Handspring want to thank you for your interest in our products. We really appreciate it! At this time, we do not have any information as to what will be needed to use the Visors with Windows 2000. You can check for updates at www.handspring.com within the next few weeks. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and again, thanks for your interest in our products.

Sincerely,
Jane
Handspring Sales Team

Question

Windows2000 is out now, where is the USB driver???

I have a HP 4200c USB scanner, a Rio500 USB MP3 player, a Logitech USB cam, and, my favorite, Visor deluxe with a USB cradle. only one of them is working in win2k right now, the USB cam.
HP says they WILL NOT support 4200c in win2k because it's NT, even it has fully support for USB; RioPort responses "At this time, Diamond Multimedia has not announced support for their Rio family of Mp3 players for use under Windows 2000. "; and same thing is happenning to Handspring now...

I really don't wanna go back to that crappy win98, and I really wanna use my USB gadgets... sigh...

Well I've got a whole folder full of emails from Handspring Tech Support saying that drivers would be available today, and even a couple saying I should stop nagging them.

So....

It's the 17th. Windows 2000 is out. I know, I was at the launch party.

Where's the freakin' drivers?

Typical Handspring.

Well, all you guys who got replies from Handspring are lucky you got that. I have written them 12 tech support emails since I got my Visor and never got ONE lousy reply. I also am annoyed that they do not let us use the drivers beta or not just like every other vendor on the planet. Just post the frinnin drivers.

Well, it's almost midnight here on the east coast on the 17th and still no Win2K drivers... Looks like Handspring didn't stick to their "plan."

How hard can it be to provide driver support for *one* hardware item for the single biggest corporate OS upgrade in history...
