This didn't happen yesterday...

When ever I view a message thread where previous posters have an ICQ number defined in thier profile, my browser displays all the messages up to the first one with an ICQ # and then hangs, waiting forever for their ICQ status icon(?) to download from some server on the Internet.

I have to hit the stop button to get the rest of the page to display.

This is really annoying. Is anybody else having this problem?

I'm using Netscape Communicator 4.5.1 on Windoze (both 95b and NT) at work. I'll check my Mac at home tonight.

That might be because the width and height tags are not definded in <img> tag. If the browser doesn't know the size it sometimes will have to wait for the image to load before going on with the page. the height and width let the browser go on.

Hmmm.

I don't think that is the problem. It's working fine on my Mac at home, running Netscape Communicator 4.5.
