Hi All,
How about a OCR Book Scanner Module?
Have the software to produce the scans in plain palm DOC format.

actually with both the wizcom hand scanner and the c-pen, you can scan text (line by line) and then beam directly to your palm device, I don't know if a module would provide any significant benefit over this....

I haven't seen the Wizcom, so I can't comment, but my place of work sells the C-Pens. The main advantage I could see over those would be tighter integration with an editing platform.

The Visor has more screen real estate for reading scanned texts, plus has easier editing support to correct those scans that turn up faulty.

Plus, you'd completely drop the beaming step.

the way I use the wizcom pen is to scan the entire document, beam it to the visor and then edit....the beam part takes -literally- seconds and I have a free springboard slot, a book scanner module would -doubtless- be fairly large, and would probably cost more than the c-pen or the wizcom pen since it would not have the same economies of scale. IMHO, unless the scanner module had some significant additional feature (like the ability to scan pictures) I don't see a need for it.

Hi All,
If you can intergrated a OCR Book Scanner into a module, I can imagine many people benefiting from it. Have it again to product the scans in palm DOC and vCard format.
