Question

This may sound odd, but I read one review that said that the Visor Deluxe as a microphone, but no speaker built-in? Is this true. I've read various pages here and at Handspring, but if it does lack a speaker, no one appears to be talking about it...

All of the Palms I've seen have speakers on them? How does the Visor alert users to things on their schedule with no audible alert.

I'm hoping that it's just a mistake.

Lightbulb

The visor has a microphone, but it doesn't do anything. The "speaker" is a little piezo thing that is similar in sound to a digital watch alarm. The reason for the microphone is to allow for future expansion via a springboard. Such a springboard would presumably have a speaker built into it for playback. Check out Innogear's much anticipated six pack for an example.

Question

Does this mean that we have no sounds at all. Not even the sounds when we close a window or chose and application like the palm units have. I am expected a new visor anyday so I haven't had a chance to actually see one. Would be kinda dissappointed if it doesn't make any sounds at all.

Your Visor will make all the normal beeps and clicks and alarm sounds that other Palm devices make... just don't expect to get any sort of quality audio out of it.

Actually, the Visor's speaker is noticeably weaker/softer than the PalmPilot I've used. Kind of a disappointment for me because I use BigClock to wake me up daily...
