I am extremely happy with my Stowaway thanks to Visor Central's discussion board on the best price. Now I need a case for just the Visor & Stowaway and maybe room for 2 extra AAA batteries and a pen stylus like the Fisher bullet pen. What are Visor Central readers recommending and NOT recommending? I'm not too concerned with leather vs nylon or other synthetic, but it must be black. Please let me know what works for you. I'll be tossing it into a big bag so a belt clip isn't essential.

How do you keep the Stowaway from scratching the Visor?
From the pictures it looks like you'd be putting the keyboard in the mesh pocket opposite the screen. Is there another large pocket? Do you wrap it? Put the Visor in face down?
Any additional information you can provide would be appreciated.

Actually, I put the Stowaway in the main area behind the straps. The Visor can fit in the pocket in the back. When I put it in there, I put the hard cover that came with the Visor on as well to protect it.

I put the Stowaway behind the straps and the Visor in the inside front pocket...face toward the fabric to protect it. No scratch problems with that method from what I can see.

I use the rear pocket for cards, cash, etc. Which inevitably brings up the Seinfeldian "European carryall" jokes...

Seriously, the only problem I ever experienced was when I did not remove my oversized Total Recall module from the Visor when I put the Visor and Stowaway in the case. The Total Recall was slightly scratched, as was the Stowaway. Learned my lesson - big modules always in the front pocket!

I can not recommend the 2000. It was way too tight and had no room for expansion over time and new modules and functions.

Although, along the same company lines... I use my 3000 everyday. Funny thing, I might move into the 4000 once I get the company issued IPAQ. YUCK....

I agree with Timmins - the RP 2000 is a bit too snug for my tastes with both the visor and stowaway. It is a good case if you have a oversized springboard (like a GPS or Minstrel) plugged in. However, for a stowaway/visor combo, I recommend the RP 3000.

By the way Timmins, if you really hate the company-supplied iPaq, you can always ship it to me, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

Targus PDA + Stowaway Case

I've seen this case at Staples but I'm not sure how Visor attaches to the case(it was behind the counter & I wasn't interested enough to see it). Price is not bad($29) but it wouldn't have enough space for batteries.

Targus Combo Case

Targus sells a case specifically for holding PDA & stowaway. http://www.targus.com/case_pda_spec...&sku=CHCL01 Keeps each in its own pocket to avoid scratching.. While I have a RS2000, it is a bit snug having both in there, esp as I use the Handspring trifold case for the Visor (I'm a case freak ) My advise; invest in the RS2000 and pick up ElekTex's fabric keyboard this summer..

I just took a look at the Targus case mentioned above and am pretty impressed. The only drawback for us serious Handspring users is the lack of space for SpringBoards. It's like we need duffle bags, not sleek little cases...

Following that tangent a little, I recalled seeing a thread discussing the use of a Case Logic case to accomodate a whole slew of Handspring and affiliated products. Here's the link:http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...Logic#post76239

The concept is very intriguing, when I finally get fed up with my RS 2000, I'll probably look this way next.

Another option.

I have seen another option that may help. Look at www.e-holster.com or www.landware.com/burropak/palmos/index.html both seem to have spots for a Visor and a Stowaway. I don't have one but it looks intresting.

OK, so I go for the Targus or Rhinoskin 2000 or 3000 to carry both together, but what if I just want a fairly cheap belt-loop case for just the keyboard?

I am thinking of a neoprene or lightly padded nylon case so I can carry the two seperately and mix'N'match to fit my needs.

Any suggestions?

I know I have only had them for two days, but I can give you my initial impressions. I have the RhinoSkin ShockSuit for my Visor, and I am carrying my Stowaway and my Visor (still in ShockSuit) in a RhinoPak 3000. It seems to be working pretty well. It is kind of a tight fight laterally, as the ShockSuit adds a bit to the dimensions of the Visor. I am going with the Thinmodem+, so that won't be a problem, I am just waiting to see how much space my charger from eXtend takes up.

As far as just a belt clip for the Stowaway, you may want to look at the ClipPak from Rhinoskin - http://www.rhinoskin.com/clippak_page.htm - It is nylon with a belt clip, and it made to hold the TiSlider case, so it should be just the right size for the Stowaway.

I can't work without some sort of portfolio/binder so I found one that has a pretty big "diskette" pocket in the cover. The pocket has a velcro closure, but I just leave that up when the Visor is in the pocket.

When I got the Stowaway, I added one of those cloth zipper pocket things (you know, for pens, and miscellaneous things) for the 3-ring binder part. It has two zippered pockets (one mesh and the other solid). The Stowaway fits perfectly in the mesh pocket. Since the mesh pocket is on the top, the Visor and keyboard never meet when the binder is closed.

It's a zippered binder, so is pretty secure.

The 3-ring binder "zipper pocket" insert was in the Back to School section and is made by Five-Star.

I just discovered by accident a decent Stowaway belt case.

I have a "Liberty 'Travelers Large Oraganizer'" from Brigade Quatermasters (www.actiongear.com) for $19.95. It is a medium sized pouch with an odd but secure belt loop, and lots of internal and external pockets and pouches. I had been using it to carry my old pocket calendar and a variety of small tools at work.

The Stowaway fits in the big central compartment. There is room for a pen, batteries, spare styli, note pad, cleaning supplies, and still a lot of nooks and crannies for little stuff. If desired, the Visor fits nicely in the 2nd largest pocket, totally surrounded by nylon- so there is no scratch risk.

Some padding on the front and back, none on the side. Not waterproof, but a very secure closure- Velcro and a bungee cord!

Regarding the link that the Rambler posted, I know someone else on this site posted this and I believe had this case. I'm still looking for a case and don't need a holster just yet (since I always have the purse option). Anything in leather or mock leather?
