Hello from InnoGear.

We would like to start a discussion on cell phones for use with SixPak.

All those out there who plan to use the cell phone port on SixPak please list the manufacturer and model of the phone that you will be using.

Bob,

I recently purchased the Motorola Digital I ST 7700 hoping that it would interface with your product. In fact, the university that pays my bills is anticipating use of the Handspring Visor among its students and the SixPak will be fundamental to the success of the initiative.

Hope this helps and good luck with each of the modules you have in the "pipeline".

I'm ANXIOUS to hook up my Visor to my Nokia 918. This is the basic Nokia that they give away when signing up for service. I'm hopeful that the opportunity will be soon upon me!

By the way, I just wanted to say that I am quite impressed to see that an Innogear Rep is here listening to us, answering questions, and basically interacting with the consumers. It makes me more confident in the products when the manufacturers come down from their mountains and listen to the average consumer.

I have the new Samsong SCH-3500 (that silver flip phone clamshell one). However, I have always had a taste for the latest and greatest Nokia models now the 6100 series. My future phone is going to be a Nokia.

I have a Motorola StarTac 70 (GSM) and a Motorola Timeport (GSM). Most people I know who would consider buying a visor have Nokia phones.

I am currently using the Motorola Timeport P8167 CDMA phone on SprintPCS's lousy network. This phone is functionally equivalent to MOT's other CDMA StarTac's except for it neato silver case and uses the same accessory connector.

It is my understanding that all of the dual-mode CDMA StarTac's have a soft modem built-in that responds to the Hayes command set. My phone shipped with a serial cable for use with a PC. As I am dying to use this phone w/ my Visor ASAP, I am more than willing to help you guys in any way possible. Please email me if you need assistance.

I just signed-up on your mailing list the other day and I mentioned that I'll be using it on my Nokia 6150. If Handspring is gonna expand its market to Europe and Asia you might want to make sure the six-pack works with the GSM standard, at the moment the Nokia and Ericsson phones are the most popular. Thanks!

It's great that innogear is making cables.. Hopefully, they won't rip us off like our service providers for cellular coverage. Sprint is selling their "it costs $5 to make" data cable for their phones for $80.. sure it comes with a windows CD, but that's useless for my Visor and my mac.
