new styli for the edge on handspring's web page

Was poking around www.handspring.com and came across this:

http://www.handspring.com/products/...10&cat=2524

It's a new stylus for the edge... and according to the web page it's a multi-function stylus, refilable pen, and reset pin. I checked out the 'large photo' of it... but it doesn't look like it fits into the Edge stylus holder correctly.

Can anybody at visorcentral find out any details on this? I personally have been wondering when a stylus replacement with a reset pin would come out....

The large image, unfortunately, is shown with the cap on the back end, as if you were using the pen. In that configuration the parts that hook into the top and bottom of the Edge are near each other. In the small picture, you can barely see, but there are connections on both ends.

I think it will work.

30 bucks?! I know the Edge silo is a little more complicated than others, but jeez!

And I was waiting for something with a spring based tip; I'd hate to see what that would set you back.

I'll be the "sucker". I'm going to try it out and I'll post a review when I recieve it (unless VC post one first). I just placed my order.

At least there's always the 30 day return policy, so the "worse-case" is I'll return it.

Hey! Edge Accessories! Don't complain! At least they're being made, no?

how long has it been now and there aren't really any Edge-specific add-ons, other than this new stylus? I'm starting to wonder if we've been orphaned and I need to UPgrade to a Pro...

Hear hear.... I agree fully. Although I'm happy about the new stylus, I checked out the new 'folio modulecase' (that I missed via checking out the post by miradu2000) on Handspring's site. It looks pretty darn cool.... I could definetly use something that could hold my Edge and modules and a stowaway. But unfortunatly it isn't Edge-compatible (and there's no stowaway keyboard available yet either).

Handspring seemed to promote well the Edge when it came out... but support for it sure seems to have dropped sharply since then. Accessories for it... whether from Handspring or 3rd parties seems few and far between. This doesn't encourage me to want to keep my Edge... although I will for as long as possible cause I love it to death....

I take this as encouraging as to the Edge itself -- support wise and as to a new Edge on the horizon.

Would HS come up with a new stylus -- at 30 bux no less -- just to sell it to the few current faithful? I think not.

I would hope and suggest that this bodes well for the Edge form factor as well as the chance of a 16meg color Edge-- or something similar--Hope Hope

I might get the new stylus from Best Buy. I work there and probably get a pretty good discount on it. I will post reviews on here.

My order is in. I had the pen stylus for my deluxe. It sucked. At least I can refill the one for the edge with replacements from Shopko.

What's the website for that company that sells the replacement ink?

Check out the picture at Amazon.com and view the larger picture. It shows exactly what it'd look like on an Edge.

Looks like the reset pin is part of the stylus/pen cap, you can see it on the side.

Pretty nifty.

Definetly a nice picture.... but I can't tell where the little 'button' you press at the top of the default stylus is to release it.

Anybody got it yet? Does Best Buy have it yet?

It appears that the button to hold it in place might not be metal, and may actually be some sort of rubber or rubberized plastic. That might hold it in place without resorting to a spring-loaded lever like the default stylus.

I work at Best Buy. We don't have it yet. I'm sure it will be about a month or so until we get it. I might just buy it off the website.

Very close, Toby. Rubberized plastic that has enough give into the pen to allow it to be placed in the edge.

It's fatter than I anticipated. And it took longer to get here than expected, as well. Very functional.

Please...let's hear more...

The BIG question: is it worth $30?
