Question

Hi all Visorites,
I haven't recieved my Blue VDx yet but I've done some research on Palm capabilities. I know that PalmOS comes with TCP/IP and PPP software built-in, and that using a Palm III etc... you can connect to an external modem using a hotsync cable (essentially a serial cable with the hotsync connector on one end). My question is:

Since the Visor uses a USB type connector, is it possible to connect to an external modem using a serial hotsync cable? Perhaps by using a USB/serial converter cable?

Also, are the hotsync cables for Palm units an aftermarket item or do they come with them?

Thanks for any links or advice on this. I'm trying to avoid having to buy the HS sprinboard modem for a little while if I can help it. I've got a (very) small external Diamond 56K modem that I could travel with if necessary.

Mark
