Question

Well I finally upgraded my VDX to a VPR. Does anybody know how much it is to replace a VPR screen? (this is for future reference)

Also, are there any 3rd party companies that replace prism screens?

I just read on another thread here that the prism screen is plastic. If this is true, does this mean it is more resistant to cracking?

I think it's $100.

Replacement Screens

The Prisim Screen is 100.00 to replace but if you sign up for Handspring's Extended Warrenty program that will include 1 screen replacement and I think it is cheaper to do that.

I think I paid 69.00 for the Staples 2 year extended warranty that covers 1 free screen replacement. I usually dont buy extended warranties but I figured considering replacing the screen alone is more than the warranty.

Hmmm, sounds good. I'll have to check it out. I'm going to be using my VPR at work this summer and I would really hate to have the screen broken. I've been pondering the idea of using my Palm Developer discount on the M100 and taking that instead to work.(they're supposed to be pretty durable and for $83, that's much cheaper than my VPR's gorgeous screen)

I'm not sure how HS works, but I cracked the outer case to my Visor Deluxe, many times actually-just finally got tired of all the tape, and after calling HS service, they sent out a NEW one for $80.
IMPORTANT FACTOID: My VDX was 2 years old. Great Service!
