purge events from outlook97 & Palm desktop

I know that this has probably come up before, but I'm not having much luck searching the archives, for my answer. I have a VDX that I synch with at work and at home (Duh, doesn't pretty much everybody that has one of these things do that?)

Anyway I want to know how do I purge events from my handheld, but maintain them (events) on the 2 different desktop programs for future reference. Using Desktop 4.0 (home), OUTLOOK97 (work).
