Question

I've just upgraded from a VDX to a Platinum. When I went first to this part of the forum, I've read some posts regarding Prism peeling.
Isn't the (lacquered) surface of the Platinum made like the Prism ? Does anyone have experiencies with a Platinum concerning that problem ?
I really hate these peelings - as a former Psinonist I am very sensitized !

Best regards, Dirk Jonas

Call Handspring.

I had a Prisim that was losing its paint, it was exchanged by them. I Haven't notice any peeling now.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

It doesn't peel.

I returned my Plat. Because it was defective, but also because it had a paint problem. You don't notice it COMING off, you notice it AFTER it CAME off. It looks pretty bad. Luckly IF this happens to you, it's covered under the warrenty, so

I love my plat, and HS custumor support is the BEST!

I've got a very new Platinum, Dated 11/08/00. I've used it Daily, and been looking for the potential paint failure and have seen no signs. I'm hopeful that later production runs solved the bad paint problems. My Visor still looks great.

Smile Answer

Many thank's for your replys. I am looking forward having a lot of fun with that excellent machine.

It is right - HS service is the best. I was calling the European hotline twice where it lasts 2 minutes to have an excellent specialist, a guy from the netherlands, on the phone. Every problem was solved within minutes.

Greetings, D. Jonas

Wink no peeling here either

I use my Platinum several times daily too, but no peel, no scratch, no marks, nada ... but then I do keep it in a leather zippered case ...
